BUSTER POSEY INJURED:- GIANTS CATCHER INJURED IN BRUTAL COLLISION WITH MARLINS' SCOTT COUSINS

Buster Posey is broken. One team had a lead, didn't then that team tied it before losing. And buster posey is broken. The giants have won some games at home. Some of them were one-run games.
Though the Giants weren't expected to officially announce the full extent of catcher Buster Posey's left ankle injury until later Thursday morning, the worst appears possible: A fracture and torn ligaments, which surely will sideline the National League's reigning Rookie of the Year for the entire season.

Comcast SportsNet Bay Area reported today that Posey, last year's National League Rookie of the Year, suffered a broken left ankle as well as ligament damage at home plate in San Francisco. The extent of the injury has yet to be confirmed by the Giants, who left Posey behind in the Bay Area to start a three-game series at Milwaukee this evening.Marlins reliever Edward Mujica gave up a single to Schierholtz and a double to Miguel Tejada in the ninth. Leo Nunez entered with one out, and Schierholtz scored on a passed ball by catcher John Buck.
In the blink of an eye Wednesday night, the road back to the World Series for the defending champion San Francisco Giants took a dramatic and painful twist. Foul tips have been peppering Posey all over his body in recent games, with one on Sunday leaving him with a sore jaw and previous ones hitting him in the shoulder and thigh. Less than two weeks ago, he had to leave a game as a precaution after back-to-back foul tips off his mask made him woozy. San Francisco is set at two positions that may be alternatives for Posey, with Pablo Sandoval (when he returns from his wrist injury) at third base and Aubrey Huff at first, plus blue-chip prospect Brandon Belt waiting in the wings. Cousins insists he wasn't trying to hurt Posey, and there's nothing in the play that suggests otherwise. He was, after all, doing what the game allows in the best interest of his team. "It's a baseball play," he said after the game. For now, he's right. And then there's the Aubrey Huff question. With Belt back in the majors, where does Huff go? The outfield as of late has been playing well. Cody Ross, Andres Torres and Nate Schierholtz make a great starting lineup out there. Pat Burrell is adjusting well to playing off the bench. Aaron Rowand is still on the team somewhere. Brandon Belt? I hope you're listening. You've got some big shoes to fill. But as you know, if any team can figure out how to do it, it's our boys, the San Francisco Giants.
